"Den omvända guideturen" är en videoinstallation som består av 2 videos x 30 min, som visas parallellt med separata ljudkanaler. I filmerna har Norrtäljebor bjudits in till att sitta i en lådcykel och därifrån guida Sara i staden till platser med en speciell innebörd eller ett särskilt värde för respektive guide.

"Den omvända guideturen" undersöker möjligheten för ett annorlunda möte och samtal med invånare om deras relation till staden. Verket formar en rörlig koreografi i, om och genom staden, där deltagarnas olika perspektiv kontinuerligt möts och stöts, både geografiskt och tankemässigt, och som ger uttryck för både individuella och kollektiva uttryck.
Installationen formades som del av konstprojektet STADSRÖRA och har presenterades på bl.a Norrtälje Konsthall 2018.

The Reversed Guide Tour (2018) is a 30-minute, dual-channel video installation presented with separate, synchronized audio tracks, creating a parallel and immersive experience.
 

In this work, 13 residents of Norrtälje, aged 4 to 76, take part as guides. Seated in a box on Sara's cozy electric cargo bike, they guide her through the city, sharing locations that hold personal significance: a site tied to a cherished memory, a favorite spot, a forgotten corner, a place they wish to change, a beloved playground, an intriguing location, a workplace, a safe haven, a scenic viewpoint, or a peaceful resting place. Along the way, we also join them on spontaneous journeys through the city, hearing their reflections and thoughts in the moment as they explore and reveal what the city means to them.

 

The Reversed Guide Tour is a dynamic audiovisual work that moves through, within, and about the city, creating a living civic dialogue shaped by the perspectives of those who inhabit, work, and experience it daily. By bringing these viewpoints together—where they may align or collide—the work amplifies voices that might otherwise go unheard. Through a playful yet profound exploration, it sparks conversations about the emotional and cultural significance of places, inviting reflection on their meaning and value. 

 

The work was created in 2018 as part of the art group and project STADSRÖRA, in collaboration with Norrtälje Konsthall. Active in Norrtälje from 2018 to 2022, STADSRÖRA distinguished itself through participatory artistic practices, engaging with residents’ stories, memories, and reflections about the city. This approach brought their voices and experiences directly into Norrtälje’s urban spaces, fostering a deeper connection between art, community, and place.
