Keeping Together in Time is an interactive sound and movement installation exploring rhythmic collective movement, both as an audible and tangible experience, as well as social and physical connector between people.
You are invited inside the installation to sit and bounce on interactive stools. This action will activate a rhythm-symphony that changes in relation to the number of participants. A symphony which can only reach its full potential in cooperation with others.
Keeping Together in Time is an exploration of our shared sense of time through rhythm. A force that might be described as a “core” in social dancing, as “transportation” to spiritual worlds within ritualistic trance-dance, or as a state of “flow” within rave and techno. The installation approaches rhythm as a collective and changeable force, with a capability of shaking both bodies and ideas into motion.
Keeping Together in Time är en interaktiv ljud och rörelseinstallation som utforskar rytmisk rörelse, både som hör- och kännbar upplevelse och som ingång till ett socialt och fysiskt samspel med andra.
I installationen bjuds besökaren in till att sitta och studsa på en samling interaktiva puffar och skapa en rytmsymfoni. Den förändras med antalet personer och når sin fulla klang i samspelet med varandra.
Keeping Together in Time undersöker skapandet av en gemensam tidsrymd genom den rytmiska rörelsens kraft. En känsla som ibland beskrivs som en ”mötespunkt” inom den sociala dansen, som en slags ”transport” till spirituella världar i ritualistisk trans-dans, eller som källa till ”flow” inom rave och techno. Installationen knyter an till den rytmiska rörelsen som en kollektiv och föränderlig kraft. En kraft som kan sätta både kroppar och idéer i rörelse.

The installation opened in June 2021, as part of the exhibition "Everybody Dance!" which will tour Scenkonstmuseet in Stockholm, Theatre Museum in Helsinki and Rockheim in Norway during 2021-2023.
